TOS Implementation PACI, Cayman Island

Seaport’s Implementation were requested to implement a TOS solution, train staff (equipment operators, dispatchers and planning department) and assist with organisational changes, in Georgetown, Cayman Islands.

The request was initiated at PACI began the process of changing to an RTG operation, the implementation of the TOS changing the operation from RS operation to RTG.

Additionally, there was a split between the landside and the seaside (nightshift) terminal. Almost no stacking area at the seaside, as the terminal was used for cruise terminal traffic in daytime. At the landside split between the RTGs and Reach stackers for specials made go-live challenges, but the team succeeded to get the combination going and after some days.

One of the ingredients different to other projects was that terminal tractors used for shunting between the terminals used the app outside the terminal as well, out gated on landside terminal, in gated seaside terminal without being out of the system.

The vessel planning was to be made based on the containers in the landside terminal, before shunting to the seaside and directly delivered to quay for loading. In addition RoRo cargo was loaded and discharged with the same system (decoupled chassis).
