Seaport Group contributed to the Port Metro Vancouver’s (PMV) Container Capacity Improvement Program(CCIP) on the planning / design, technology, and cost modelling.
This work carried out by Seaport Group included:
Development of layouts for Terminal 2
Technology review, related to future handling equipment–including future of battery driven lift-AGVs versus AShC, width of yard ASCs, truck and waterside interchange zones, etc.
Review of existing container terminal plans, and providing improvements.
Detailed dynamic event-based simulation of intermodal rail yard (kombiterminal).
Development of terminal operations costs models. –The models applied in this project, is one of the most comprehensive models in the industry and includes traditional manned terminal (RTGs/TT, RTGs/RSs, CRMGs/TTs), semi-automated and the newest state of the art unmanned yard cranes and battery driven lift-AGVs, and unmanned truck hand over.
